Fans left horrified as Gwyneth Paltrow suffers wardrobe malfunction at Oscars

A moment involving Gwyneth Paltrow quickly caught viewers’ attention during this year’s Academy Awards after fans noticed what appeared to be a wardrobe mishap.

Gwyneth Paltrow, 53, made a striking appearance at the 98th ceremony on Sunday, stepping onto the red carpet in a bold white gown. The strapless dress featured sheer nude panels running from her hips toward her midriff, creating dramatic cutout-style slits along both sides.

The design certainly turned heads, but it also appeared to lead to an awkward moment later inside the Dolby Theatre, where the ceremony was held, according to VT.

In a clip circulating on X, Paltrow can be seen walking through the theater while navigating a staircase. As she lifted the long hem of the gown while stepping down, the dress’s high slits briefly exposed more than she likely meant to show.

At one point, the camera caught a brief flash of skin and what appeared to be more of the actress than intended, prompting quick reactions from viewers online.

“Talk about a red carpet nightmare,” one person wrote on X, according to the site. “Jeez! That was so awkward,” another added. A third person asked: “Did her dress break?”

Some fans also came to her defense. One person wrote: “She looks great. It happens. I didn’t see anything,” and another added: “Things like that can happen to anyone, especially at big events like the Oscars.”
