According to arrest records from the Ventura Sheriff’s Office, Spears, 44, was taken into custody on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, and released early Thursday morning, March 5.

TMZ first reported the news, stating that Spears was arrested for a DUI.
The arrest was listed as a “cite and release,” with no probation noted. Spears is scheduled to appear in court for the incident on May 4.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Ventura Sheriff’s Office for additional details but has not yet received a response. A representative for Spears also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Spears, whose social media videos often spark online discussion, also appeared to delete her Instagram account sometime this week.
