Kristin Cabot is now speaking out about her former boss, months after a moment at a Coldplay concert went viral and ignited widespread controversy.
And her new accusation against him is far from mild…
Long‑lasting effects One of last year’s most viral moments unfolded in July 2025, when the world witnessed one of the most embarrassing concert incidents in recent memory.
Now, Cabot — a mother of two — is opening up about her relationship with her former boss, ex‑Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, months after the two were seen getting close at a Coldplay concert in Boston.
During the show, Cabot and Byron appeared on the venue’s “kiss cam,” where they were shown embracing before quickly trying to duck out of sight. From the stage, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked that they might be having an “affair,” a comment that only intensified the situation as the clip spread online.
The brief but highly publicized moment had lasting consequences. Cabot later said the attention brought intense scrutiny, criticism, and even death threats, deeply affecting her personal life and career.
At the time, Cabot was head of human relations at the tech company Astronomer, where Byron was CEO. Both eventually stepped down from their positions after the incident.
Although both were married during the concert, Cabot said she was already in the process of divorcing her estranged husband and believed Byron was in a similar place.
In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey on The Oprah Podcast, released March 17, Cabot shared an update on her relationship with Byron. She revealed that she “ended communication” with him last fall, marking a clear break from the connection that first drew public attention.
“There was a big miss on honesty and integrity,” she told Winfrey. “He wasn’t the person he represented himself to be, to me — and lying is a non‑negotiable for me.” When Winfrey pressed her — noting it sounded like she was implying Byron may have misled her about being separated from his wife — Cabot declined to elaborate. She said it wouldn’t be fair to answer and that she knows what it feels like to have one’s private life exposed.
“I wanna be really careful, because the world spoke for me and on my behalf, and I don’t wanna do that to somebody else and their family,” she said. “A lot of what was represented to me was not true.”
Cabot told The New York Times that in the weeks after the concert, she and Byron stayed in touch, checking in with each other throughout the summer.
“Honestly, a lot of it was like, ‘Hi, it’s 11 o’clock on a Tuesday — any advice?’ ” she recalled.
In a separate interview with The Times of the U.K., Cabot described these exchanges as more about “crisis management advice” than anything personal.
By September, the two met for the final time. Cabot said they agreed that continuing to communicate would only make it harder for everyone involved to move forward and heal.
Reflecting on the aftermath during her appearance on The Oprah Podcast, Cabot said she believes she and Byron were treated very differently by the public once the kiss cam moment went viral.
As one example, she noted that “every single part of my physical appearance was picked apart.”
While she repeatedly acknowledged making a “mistake,” Cabot said the overwhelming global reaction — online and offline — felt disproportionately severe.
“I own the poor decision that I made in that moment, and I’ve paid an unimaginable price for that,” she said.
