Grandma reveals what she looked like before full body tattoos

Many people enjoy getting body modifications such as tattoos to express their individuality. However, some people are completely against these kinds of things. Kerstin Tristan was one of the latter until 2015, when one moment changed her mind for good…

Fifty‑six‑year‑old Kerstin Tristan is a mother and grandmother, but her hobbies fall a little outside what some might consider “typical” for a grandmother. She loves body‑modification art—especially tattoos.

Today, her entire body is covered in ink, and reaching that point required a significant financial commitment. But she didn’t always feel this way. In fact, she admitted that until 2015, she actually disliked tattoos. So what changed her perspective? That same year, she got her first tattoo, and it completely shifted how she viewed the practice.

“I simply just wanted to try something new. We all live just once, and I thought that at my age, something real has to come,” she shared.

Since 2015, she has spent 30,000 euros (about $32,000 USD) on tattooing her body. Fortunately, her transformation has brought her a lot of attention and admiration.

Her Instagram account now has over 190,000 followers, and her TikTok videos have millions of views.

She isn’t shy about showing off her look, regularly posting photos that reveal her full body art. But she didn’t always look this way—just a decade ago, she had no tattoos at all and looked completely different. She occasionally shares comparison photos so people can see the dramatic change.

The German influencer has vibrant roses on her legs, leopard print on her shoulders, and detailed portraits on her arms—just a few among dozens of tattoos covering her body.

She loves her appearance now, saying, “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love.”

And she’s not the only one who appreciates her look. One fan wrote, “A beautiful work of art,” while another commented, “Wow, stunning photo.” Self‑expression shouldn’t fade with age. If anything, Kerstin is a wonderful example of how age should never limit how you choose to present yourself to the world. What do you think of her tattoos? Let us know in the comments.
