Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appeared at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, but some fans were suspicious of the couple’s chemistry, saying something between them felt off.
The pair made their official awards‑show debut on Thursday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Swift was nominated for nine awards, making her the most‑nominated artist of the year.
The NFL star was front and center in the audience as he watched his fiancée take home seven of the nine awards she was up for. Still, viewers weren’t convinced by their chemistry.
One person wrote on X, “Taylor and Travis just seem so awkward together tonight.”
“They look painfully awkward for a couple that’s constantly framed as ‘endgame’ and heading toward marriage. The energy feels so staged, and the fake surprised ‘oh’ when the camera pans to her? Come on,” a Reddit user commented.
They continued, “She’s media‑trained to the core—she knew the shot was coming. I’m sorry, but their chemistry is nonexistent. It’s giving two people very aware they’re being watched, not two people in a relationship.”
People responded to the post, with one user writing, “They’re getting married in less than 3 months. Can’t you tell.” Another added, “It looks like they’ve broken up but are keeping up appearances lol.”
On X, another viewer chimed in, “Taylor and Travis look so fake.” Someone else wrote, “Watching the replay of the iHeartRadio Awards. I hate how they’re shoving Taylor and Travis down our throats. Who caressssssss. It’s just weird. They look so fake.”
During Swift’s speech as she accepted her first award of the night, she thanked her fiancé. She said, “I think that this album probably also feels very happy and confident and free because that’s the way I get to feel every single day of my life because of my fiancé, who’s here tonight.”
“So thanks for all the vibes,” she added. Swift won seven awards at the event, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Pop Artist of the Year, and Pop Song of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia.”
With these seven new wins, her total rises to 41, making her the artist with the most iHeartRadio Awards of all time.
