Many people say love has no age—and clearly, it has no height requirement either. Game of Thrones star and strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, known as “The Mountain,” stands at 6 feet 9 inches, while his wife, Kelsey Henson, is just 5 feet 2. During a recent Q&A, she finally addressed the intimate question fans keep asking her.
Björnsson, from Reykjavik, Iceland, rose to global fame through his role on Game of Thrones and his career as a professional strongman, earning more than 30 international titles. His imposing size is part of his identity both on-screen and in competition.
Henson, by contrast, is much smaller in stature. The couple began dating in 2017 and married in October 2018. Their height difference has long fascinated fans, and their wedding photos—especially one where he effortlessly lifts her—only fueled the curiosity.
“It is with great pleasure that I now get to call Kelsey Morgan Henson my wife,” Björnsson wrote at the time. “I get to hold this beautiful woman through thick and thin for the rest of our lives.”
Because of their height gap, fans often wonder how the couple handles everyday affection. During an Instagram Q&A, one follower asked Henson how they kiss, jokingly suggesting she must leap into his arms each time. Henson replied, “He bends, I tiptoe. Or just say screw it, pick me up!”
Unfortunately, not all attention has been kind. Björnsson has spoken about the online trolling he and his family have faced. He told The Mirror that while no one confronts him in person, social media brings out “internet warriors” who target him and his loved ones. He blocks anyone who crosses the line, choosing instead to focus on the positive. “I’m the world’s strongest man,” he said. “What have they achieved?”
